In the heart of the city
Our itineraries in the historic city center are designed both for those visiting Palermo for the first time and for those who wish to explore it in greater depth, through less touristy routes and authentic places. We will not overlook the city’s extraordinary culinary tradition, nor references to its darker aspects, such as the mafia. Palermo is a city with a unique historical, artistic, and gastronomic heritage. During our tours, you will discover the remarkable Arab-Norman churches, including the Palatine Chapel, Palermo Cathedral, and the Church of Santa Maria dell’Ammiraglio (La Martorana), recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2015. The city tells the story of centuries of encounters between different cultures that have shaped its identity and charm. In recent years, the revitalization of Palermo’s historic center has transformed the city into a vibrant cultural hub.

Outside the city
The plain on which Palermo extends is surrounded by hills of great natural, historical, and spiritual appeal. Our guided itineraries in the surroundings of Palermo lead to the discovery of symbolic places, amid breathtaking landscapes, ancient traditions, and sites of extraordinary cultural value. Facing the sea rise two iconic mountains: Monte Pellegrino to the north and Monte Grifone to the southeast. Positioned opposite one another, they share a strong sense of sacredness. Monte Pellegrino, once the site of an ancient pagan cult, is now dedicated to Saint Rosalia, the patron saint of Palermo, who lived here as a hermit. Monte Grifone, on the other hand, is linked to Saint Benedict the Moor, the first Black saint of the Catholic Church and co-patron of the city. From both mountains, it is possible to enjoy splendid views over Palermo and the sea, as well as visit places rich in history, spirituality, and popular traditions.
On the inland side lies Monte Caputo, where in 1174 the Norman king William II founded Monreale, destined to become one of the most important royal residences of the Middle Ages. The famous Cathedral of Monreale, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2015, is an unmissable stop on our tours. Below you will find the guided itineraries available for booking, but we are also happy to design personalized routes in the surroundings of Palermo, tailored to your needs, interests, and the time you have available.
